Speed Limit Information
Over the past year there have been inquiries by some residents regarding the speed limits posted on their roadways and wishes to change the limits. Most residents are under the impression that Township officials and Police have control over what speed limit is posted. The fact is neither the Township or Police have any control over posted speed limits.

ATVs and Snowmobile Information
Brandywine Regional Police has experienced an increased number of complaints regarding the operation of ATV's and snowmobiles on private or state owned property. In an effort to better educate the public, I want to list some of the rules and regulations concerning the operation of these motorized vehicles as they relate to Pennsylvania state law. These rules and regulations are found in Title 75, The Vehicle Laws of Pennsylvania.

Youth Aid Panel Information
Brandywine Regional Police serving East Brandywine and Wallace Townships is proud to announce that Youth Aid Panels will be available for first time juvenile offenders. Volunteer community member’s help youth deal with underage drinking, curfew violations, graffiti, etc. and will help youth stay out of the criminal justice system. The amount of training and commitment time needed to participate is minimal. The panels are always looking for volunteers and would like you to join them.

Traffic Control Signals
Section 3112 a(3iii)c of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code states if the traffic lights at an intersection are not functioning properly for some reason, all traffic on all roadways must treat it as an all-way stop intersection.

Brandywine Regional Police Commission
Brandywine Regional Police is governed by a three member Police Commission. Police Commission members include one Township Supervisor from both East Brandywine and Wallace Townships and one "at large" member. The BRPC and the Chief of Police oversee the day to day operations of the Police Department.

New Law Will Require Wipers with Headlights
The Department of Transportation announced that a new law will require motorists to turn on their headlights anytime their vehicles' wiper are in continuous or intermittent use.
